Open Hand Theater proudly presents our newly renovated Castle on North Salina Street, built in the heart of Syracuse in 1890.

Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner and Onondaga County Executive Joanne Mahoney presided at the Ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday October 20, 2011 with Open Hand Theater supporters and a gallery of our Classic Puppets.  

Open Hand Theater presents theater, mask & puppet performances in its wonderful historic castle. Performances are geared for children, families and adult audiences. The theater presents puppeteers and performers from across the country along with Open Hand Theater’s original creations.

Open Hand Theater’s performances also tour extensively.

The Open Hand Theater Castle, with its Mask and Puppet Museum and international gift shop, is just blocks from downtown and part of a the historic North Salina Street neighborhood which is home to many of the areas best restaurants, bakeries, and international grocery stores.
